I think Garlic is one of those vegetables people really like, it is part of the Allium family (Onion), and its closest relative are Onions, Shallots, Leeks and Chives. It is originally from Central Asia and the Middle East, and has been one of the most common seasonings in the world for millennia (since the Ancient Egyptians). It is a easy plant to grow and has many uses, especially for those who like it.

We're into the planting season and good dirt is essential for gardens. A good place to go for compost is Nor-Grow located at the Foothills Regional Landfill. It's located in Prince George at the end of Austin Rd. at Foothills Boulevard. As always, do your research when determining what to mix in with your compost as that will depend upon what you are growing. The RDFG site online has the following information as well as much more to help get you started.
